Who's Who

The ICC is full of interesting, vibrant people, both members and staff. Listing all the members would be too tedious, but here's a run-down of the ICC's staff.

Eric Lipson, General Manager

The ICC General Manager has many responsibilities. He hires and supervises the full-time staff which includes human resources and benefits administration. He serves as staff advisor to the Coordinating Committee and the Board of Directors. The GM position has to know what's happening in all the ICC departments and committees. He helps with the annual planning process and assists in all sorts of ways to broaden the scope and vision of staff and ICC members.


Susan Caya, Director of Education & Training

For any organization to truly be a co-op, they must provide constant education for their members, employees, and the public. Here at the ICC it is the job of Susan Caya as Director of Education and Training (DET) to over see that. She is the staff liaison to the Education Committee and the Diversity Committee and works with other committee members to provide New Member Orientation, new House Officer Training, and Board Training. However, her job does not stop there. Her other responsibilities include working with the Sexual Harassment Resource Team (SHRT), the ICC Web Team, and the Living Well Team. She is also oversees ICC publications such as The Reporter, Summer Cooperator, Alumni Cooperator, and various brochures and training manuals.


Cindy Christiansen, Director of Maintenance Services

As Maintenance Director, Cindy Christiansen does a little bit of everything. Her major responsibilities include handling major maintenance issues that encompass everything from the tip of the roof to the foundation and every system in between. While not researching potential new properties she is visiting all the houses that have contractors working on projects. She also pays all the maintenance bills and is the staff liaison for the Development Committee (DEVO).


Geoff Mayers, Maintenance Coordinator

As Maintenance Coordinator, Geoff helps houses stay up to city housing code and to prepare for city inspections which happen every 2.5 years.  This includes working with contractors and conducting our own inspections during non-city-inspection years.   As the staff representative to the Maintenance Committee, Geoff trains and assists maintenance managers in how to tackle maintenance projects in the ICC.  Geoff is also responsible for building and maintaining the ICC Maintenance website, managing the ICC Tool Crib, and handling various day to day tasks of ICC Maintenance. If you ever need assistance with completing projects at your house, Geoff can be reached via the Request For Assistance form (RFA), which can be found on the maintenance section of the ICC web page.


Joan Bulmer, Director of Financial Services

Joan is in charge of running the Finance Office which helps house treasurers keep books, create budgets, and learn responsible accounting techniques for their house. Joan helps prepare the ICC budget, analyzes our organization's finances and makes fiscal projections and analyses. Besides keeping the books so the Finance Committee, and General Manager can accomplish their tasks, Joan pays the corporate bills, processes payroll, and files all tax forms.



David Carter, a.k.a "Yes", Director of Member Services

Yes comes to us with over 25 years of experience in the fields of intentional and cooperative living, education, social research, consensus-based decision making, conflict resolution, and social justice movements. Yes's duties include supervising the Member Services, Marketing, and Website staff, policy administration, conflict resolution, explanation of Standing Rules and housing assistance to current and prospective members. He trains the In-House Presidents who help keep the office appraised of the current house happenings. As Director of Member Services, Yes is also the staff liaison for the Membership, Diversity, and Recruitment Committees.


Ron Nelson, Member Services Coordinator

Ron runs the ICC Member Services Desk. This includes answering lots of emails and phone calls! He supervises the fine-looking and talented front desk assistants and processes member requests regarding housing contracts. He assists the Director of Member Services in her tasks, especially in regards to policy administration.
